Our search is over! Your Vestry is proud to announce that we have called the Rev. Heather Hill to be the Rector of the Parish of St. Clement. She is currently the Rector at All Saints Episcopal Church in Parma, Ohio.
Rev. Heather will arrive mid-September with her husband, Rev. Dustin Berg (also and Episcopal priest), and their twin 5 year olds, daughter Kailani and son Elijah. Her first Sunday service will be October 1st, 2017.
The Rev. Heather Hill was born in Hong Kong, grew up in suburban Detroit, and has traveled widely. She has a BA in Religion and Classics from Bucknell University and a Master's of Divinity from Harvard University. She was ordained in the Diocese of Michigan, Deacon in 2003 and priest in 2004. Rev. Heather is married to the Rev. Dustin Berg, also an Episcopal priest,
and together they have 5 year old twins, Elijah and Kailani. Elijah love trucks and building things, and Kailani loves to color and read. They both enjoy gymnastics and swimming.
Rev. Heather has served parishes in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
After 14 years in parish ministry and eleven as rector, she loves how parishes are able to bring together all generations into God's family. She enjoys ceramics, especially throwing pots on a wheel, and kayaking through God's creation. She is joyfully anticipating the multitude of cultures and beauty of Hawai'i and looks forward to getting to know the people of St. Clement's.
A Special Thank you
To our POSC Search Committee: Adrienne Lau, Beth Charlton, Arthur Buto, Kingsley Wong, Heather McVay, Helena Ishida, and Wade Nobuhara,
The Vestry of the Parish of St. Clement wholeheartedly thanks you for your time, your commitment, putting together a very professional profile, and thoughtful deliberations. It was a tedious undertaking and we understand that all of you gave up a lot of personal time to get the job done, as well as having to do some unselfish soul-searching to come up with candidates who could connect with all of the parishioners. We have many different demographics to represent and you did a great job!
We thank you for your perseverance and dedication to see the job to completion.
And now, as we announce the calling of our new Rector of our Parish, we say to each of you, "WELL DONE!"
MAHALO NUI LOA!
